Pretty in Pink! The Native Swamp Exhibit and Rookery is proud to announce the hatching of four Roseate Spoonbill (Platalea ajaja) nests containing twelve chicks! This is the FIRST time spoonies have ever bred at the St Augustine Alligator Farm. This significant hatch is exceptionally notable since it is an expansion of their breeding range within Florida. Eight wild wading bird species now nest successfully on zoo grounds! |

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park has once again been granted AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) accreditation! The Alligator Farm first received AZA accreditation in 1989 and has continued to meet AZA's ever-rising standards for animal care, veterinary programs, conservation, education and safety for the last 20 years. To be accredited, AZA requires zoos and aquariums to successfully complete a rigorous accreditation process every five years which includes a detailed application and a meticulous on-site inspection of the park. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the staff, the Alligator Farm will continue its AZA membership. |
